Many a times when we read a book we are not able to focus or read the book speedy. There are some ways to increase your reading skill .When you start reading book you are actually focusing on learning but the fact is that we should focus on words to speed up our English or any language reading. Some tips to increase reading habit.
1. Avoid distraction: Remove unnecessary things beside you to focus on what you are reading. 1. Switch off your phone 2.Pause all the music around you 3.Sit in a silent room 4. Always have a pencil in your hand and underline the main topics.
2. Cover the part of text you have already read: Always cover the part of text or paragraph which you have already read esspecially when you are reading a novel. This will not create a feeling of mental tiredness.what I have experienced by doing so is when I use to cover the part of text which I have already read I was having a feeling that I have read and only some part of the book is left.The less text there is on a page, the easier it is for you to focus on the text that is on the page. That’s why it can be quite helpful to cover the pieces of text that you have read already.
3. Keep testing your self : Testing yourself and asking questions to yourself will give you more focus on the text or lesson. If you are preparing yourself for board or any examination you read the lesson one time and then read the question given back of the lesson or create a question yourself this will help a lot on memorizing and automatically your mind Will start focusing on the answer of the question Which you have created or given at the back of the chapter.
4. Start with easy books or word: In 1990's scientist's conducted a experiment . Two groups of students were made one of the group was given a very difficult word book and the other group were given easy and low level book and words it was found that the group which was given difficult book made a progress of only 10% ,while the other group of students made progress of 90% and we're able to read book properly. This experiment proved that if we start with a low level to high level we will be successful in reading and thereafter in life.
